Darwin Podiatry Clinic

Hi,

My name is Cable Mills and I am the Principal Podiatrist at Swan Podiatry and Orthotics. After graduating from Charles Stuart University in Albury/ Thurgoona in 2011, I have worked in busy podiatry practices in both Darwin and Melbourne. I have a keen interest in sports injuries, orthotic therapy and ingrown nail surgery.

I chose to study Podiatry as I have a passion for sport and am interested in biomechanics and the way the body moves and works. I enjoy working with and talking to people and find it rewarding that I can make a difference to people’s lives. I first saw a podiatrist myself during high school, who prescribed orthotics, which really helped me continue with my sport. (And no, I do not have a foot fetish!).

My wife and I relocated back to Darwin in early 2016 and this is when Swan Podiatry and Orthotics first begun. Swan Podiatry has been operating from day one at the Coconut Grove practice, with the addition of the satellite clinics in Katherine later that year. My aim was to be able to provide high-level, personalised treatment with generous appointment times so patients feel comfortable and listened to.

I am keen on most sports but am an avid cricket and AFL supporter. I enjoy running and keeping active – completing my first (and only) marathon in May 2017. I love the Territory lifestyle and enjoy spending time with my wife and our young family in the pool or early dinners along the foreshore.

Hi,

My name is Stella, and I am a Podiatrist relatively new to the Northern Territory, moving up here in 2020. I previously worked down south across several outreach clinics in rural New South Wales and Victoria. I’ve wanted to move to the NT for years, mainly due to the laid-back lifestyle the place radiates as well as the ability to explore the best of Australia’s outdoors. The other major reason was the chance to work within the NT Health sector, and hopefully learn from the many challenges that come with it.
My initial interest in podiatry started when I was working in a sports store during high school. That interest continued to grow as I learnt of the many different streams of podiatry you could pursue. I had always wanted to work in healthcare and enjoyed engaging with people personally, that combined with the variety podiatry seemed to hold – it seemed like the right fit. With my previous work, I have experience across all streams of podiatry but find keen interests in biomechanics, orthotics, and diabetic foot care. I enjoy working in regional areas and providing access to podiatry services within the community.

My partner and I are both looking forward to exploring the NT, meeting new people, and getting outdoors.
